Album Review: Keith Tryfle Hudson Looks to Break Records with New Album It’s Not About Me

Keith Tryfle Hudson looks to break the Guinness Book of World Records record for most albums released in a single calendar year by one artist. Tryfle is set to release the first of his 10 planned albums on January 15th, 2021. Each album will have 10 songs, each being about a different person in Tryfle’s life. With 100 songs total about 100 different people Tryfle is attempting to do something that has never been done before.
The first of these albums is titled It’s Not About Me. Tryfle bases this album around the early years of his life and tells the stories of his upbringing. Originally from Queens, New York. This hip hop artist starts the album off with a slower emotional track, “The one about the kid from Queens.” This song describes a friendship between two kids with similar interests that come from different backgrounds and social classes. Tryfle’s overall goal for this project is to show people that no matter where you come from or what your past is like we are all similar, we are all human beings at the end of the day that are more similar than we might think.
I really like what Tryfle is trying to accomplish with this musical project. Oftentimes people get caught up within their own social circles and classes that they forget that we all have a lot more in common than we might think. We as a species need to overlook our differences and focus on joining together as humans to make the world a better place.
Tryfle covers a wide variety of themes, from friendships to romantic relationships to future goals and ambitions. All of his songs on this album are relatable in one way or another. He talks about the stressfulness of college and of figuring out what you want to do with your life. Which is something that a lot of young people deal with every day. He then dives into the difficulties that come with the search for love. Love is such a complicated thing and something that is hard to find, so many people have either struggled with this emotion or are currently struggling with it. When you listen to Tryfle’s music it doesn't sound as complicated. He is able to shed some light and provide listeners with relatable stories and advice that can help them in their quest to find love in their own lives.
It’s Not About Me is a very inspiring collection of music. I really like the whole overarching theme of the album and hope that others are able to find Tryfle’s music as relatable as I have. Each track has great music paired with inspiring and relatable lyrics. I can’t wait to see the rest of Tryfle’s 100 songs about 100 people project.
