All About Luke Wood!
Hi Luke! It is great to talk with you today!
You have a release coming up in April right? Will you tell us a bit about it? That's right! "Preacher Man" drops on 4/16. The song mirrors the parable of the sower from the Bible. The man in the story feels like he has exhausted all of his options attempting to yield fruit. He resorts to pleading for mercy from the "Preacher Man" either in the form of seeds or stones...seeds for fruit or stones to put him out of his misery. It is the heaviest song I've released thus far. Believe it or not, I actually wrote it on the ukulele! So to hear it come together with all the other instrumentation has been a fun process!
Who are some of your biggest musical influences? I hate this question because it is such a loaded one! I grew up watching MTV in the 80's and 90's and my family was into various kinds of music as well. My dad liked old country such as George Jones, Merle Haggard and Conway Twitty, while my mom was into classic rock and pop. My older brother introduced me to heavy metal and took me to many of my first live shows. As a result, my influences are quite eclectic! Some of the more prominent influences include: Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton, Tool, Deftones and Rage Against the Machine.
If you had to describe yourself as an artist in one word what would it be Immersive What is your favorite thing about being an artist? My favorite thing about being an artist is that there are no rules! There's this sense of endless freedom for me to express, explore and create without bounds! Please let our readers know where they can find you and your music! I can be found on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube with the handle @lukewoodmusic and my music can be found on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and most other streaming services.
