For designer Emily Daccarett fashion and music can not be separated. Daccarett creates an immersive world of storytelling through music, film, and fashion. Each artistic direction begins with a beat that forms a story. From the start of her brand, she has fused those worlds together, creating a symbiotic flow between the two.

Hi Emily! Thank you for taking this interview with us! Congratulations on your music! How exciting! How long have you been making music?

Thank you so much!! Yeah, I’m so excited to have my album finally out! I’ve been making music for about 8 years. I began writing songs for my fashion work, but it wasn’t until 4 years ago that I began writing music as an indie pop artist.

Why did you choose the title for the new music?

The title, Yours Always, comes from how I would always sign off my letters to family and friends. While writing this album, I wrestled with the question of why do I do this? As beautiful as the process is, it does take a lot out of you. Then finally it all clicked. I write music to spread joy and connect with people. I truly want to make people smile and feel less alone. I think I have a gift of always looking for the silver lining and never losing hope… and I feel a responsibility to share that with others.

Can you tell our audience what the album is about?

In many ways this album was my way of coming to terms with grief after the loss of my grandparents. Within the lyrics I navigate between different concepts and emotions such as love, loss, memory, time, hope, and escape.

Why did you choose to release the music now?

We had been working on this album for about two years now. Even though it was done by the beginning of summer, I still waited a few months to let it sit with me and ultimately waited for when the time felt right.

Can you tell us the journey about making the music?

We began working on this album remotely due to lockdown. My producer and I wanted to bring our background of film into this album by creating a cinematic feeling as you listen through the songs. The intros of the song hint at whether we are going back in time through memories and when we are coming back to the present.

What kind of journey was it for you to be ready to release the music?

I fell in, out, and back in love with the album. I think we can be overly critical and harsh with our music, so when that happens, I take a step back and move on for a while. It gives me a chance to listen to the songs with a fresh pair of ears.

Where can new fans stream it?

You can stream my music on any major streaming platform! Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal…really anywhere! b9w usicTerritory=US&ref=dm_sh_noWEp2G4gMlJsjBpZkTBdMxQh

How do they follow you?

You can follow me on all my socials!

What's next for you!

I’m currently working on a new single! I’m also splitting my time between music, fashion, and production and costume design for a short film I’m working on. So my days really feel like a blur, but I love it!

Thank you for this interview Emily!

Thank you so much for having me!!!
