Interview with John Polimeni (Lead Guitar) and Evan Russell Saffer (Voice) of Makes My Blood Dance. New Music in the NEW YEAR! Happy New Year! How did you start yours off musically? John: My right (guitar-playing) arm was completely dislocated out of its socket by a giant rogue wave while swimming at Jones Beach. So I went into surgery right on the new year. I'm completely incapacitated from playing guitar. So I've been writing the next big hit by plinking out some tunes with my left arm at the piano while being zonked-out on some prescription pain meds. Been rad. Evan: We have been in post production on both final mixes of the record Rag Na Rok and the music video for the first single "Together Apart". It's an amazing process and you always feel like you are one mix or one cut away from the final but then there are comments or tweaks. The good news is that every round surpasses expectations and it keeps getting better. Patience is a large part of putting out anything artistic. It has to be the best effort all around and that takes collaboration and patience. We have an incredible team of like minded creators on all our endeavors and I really do enjoy the process. In the meantime as all this is happening we are writing new material for the next record, knee deep in pre-production for the second video for "Wish I Knew You" and doing lots of interviews and podcasts. What hot sounds in the city should fans be listening to of yours right now?

John: Me playing piano with my only good arm. Evan: If it's out, definitely check out the Together Apart music video. Our Youtube and Spotify channels have all our past music videos and live album "Live from Smash Sound Stage NYC". Power of the Lightside is a banger of a song with a great music video. Sick As Our Secrets is easily our most popular song and the Beaming Right Up music video has a special place in my heart because it was so much fun to film. Lots of fun dancing and costuming in that one.

How has the reception been to new music? John: My wife hates that I do music and wishes for sudden and prompt destruction of the band and my entire music career. But don't get me wrong, she's the better person & parent here, but yea that's my reality. So my incapacitation has been met with a warm response, and inspiring some super new music outta me. But on the other hand I think our fans can't wait to hear the new stuff since our last release was a little while ago. No one's heard the next album yet - look out for TOGETHER APART on Valentine's Day 2022. Evan: Absolutely horrible. People have crapped on the music and usually get really ill just listening to a few notes. Just kidding, I thought I would write something other than glowing reviews. Honestly, I really don't care. I'm a spiritual dude that is doing the best I can to put something out there that hasn't been rehashed or done a million times before. We've been called Disco Metal and Metal for Theater Kids. Two monikers I'm proud of and make a lot of sense to me. Give it a whirl, if you don't like it then try not to rain on my parade. If you love it, share the love, that's always fun. Peace. What are you looking forward to most when you perform in front of an audience this year? John: Love talking to the crowd and bands at the show. Evan's got real mojo with meeting the entire room before the show so I like tagging around for that and spreading the love. But mostly looking forward to not getting my head ripped off by my wife when I come home off the road. Evan: Performing in front of an audience this year. Having a real life interaction with people, spreading the love, eye gazing and rockin' the night away. All that good stuff. We are sorely missing the road and our extended family of BloodDancers. What was the intention set for your music? John: Together Apart is kinda inspired from the pandemic driving people apart, and the stir-craziness that it's caused in us. I'm sure people can relate to the internal friction from it. Evan: Honest, raw, real, make-you-move-inside-and-out with the electricity that you feel when you're with someone you love and you're conscious of it. Extended non-chemical high as a kite rip ragin' rockin' blissed out beauty in a bottle brick through the window that confines your heart. I could go on....... What was the most important message to impart with your music? Evan: Read my last response and leave any fear at the door. How do you want your fans to treat themselves after listening to your music? John: Go to more shows, events, be together. Done with this whole endemic, I'm ready for the next phase of the apocalypse. Jesus is coming soon, get ready. Matthew 24:7 -14 Evan: You're good enough, the mind creates its own reality so here's where we invite you: Kiss on the lips, motion creates emotion and step into Wonderland. What is a song of yours that you have on repeat right now to set the mood for 2022? John: Check out our latest single release "We Push and They Shove" on Spotify Evan: "Together Apart" by Makes My Blood Dance and "We Got The Moves" by Eskimo Callboy Drop all your streaming links to make sure to get continued support on all you do!!
