Talking All Things Music with Stacy Olieux!!
Can't wait to hear your new music!
Hi Stacy! It is great to have you here today!
Congrats on the release of your single 'Come Home' last month! Can you talk a bit about how that song came about and what the inspiration was for it?
Thank you! Come Home is about feeling lonely and depressed and just wanting your significant other to come home to take some of that pain away. I wrote this song in the depths of depression. My husband also works a lot so I was alone a lot. It got so bad that I started taking Benadryl overdoses to escape at which times I'd often experience hallucinations and other weird experiences. I'm a person who has too much solitude so I often crave having my husband around, and when that wasn't happening, this song was born.
Who are some of your musical influences?
Some of my musical influences are The Weeknd, BANKS, and Jhené Aiko.
What is a favorite piece of advice you've been given that you still carry with you today?
A favourite piece of advice I have been given is, "If not now, then when?"
Any shows, movies, books, etc that you've been loving recently?
My husband and I are really into watching Blacklist and Departures lately. We've seen Departures before but it never gets old. It's about these guys that travel the world together, and it's always really inspired us to travel.
Is there anything you have coming up that you're looking forward to?
I'm doing a collaboration with an artist that I'm really looking forward to. That and just writing more music.
Please let our readers know where they can follow you and find your music!
Thank you for your time!
