THE GRAVITATION OF EMILY DACCARETT'S MUSIC

For designer Emily Daccarett fashion and music can not be separated. Daccarett creates an immersive world of storytelling through music, film, and fashion. Each artistic direction begins with a beat that forms a story. From the start of her brand, she has fused those worlds together, creating a symbiotic flow between the two. She uses textiles, shapes, and sound as her tools to world building, and give her audience the chance to step into those stories and experience it themselves. She graduated from Instituto Marangoni in Paris and the prestigious Ecole De La Chambre Syndicale de La Couture Parisienne, where she trained in the French technique of draping and pattern making. Soon after graduated from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. She made her runway debut with Concept Shows during LA Fashion Week. Now she is pushing the boundaries of her imagination through synth-pop. Think of Blondie and David Lynch having a baby in 2022 and that's the direction her music takes.

Pieces is THE hot sound in the city right now! Congratulations on the latest release!

Thank you so much!!! I’m so happy you like it!

How has the reception been to new music?

It’s been wonderful! I couldn’t be happier to hear how people have been reacting to Pieces, a lot have said this is their favorite song from my discography.

Have you performed the single in front of an audience?

Yes! I performed it Live at The Whisky a Go Go with my band for the first time since its release. It’s such a fun song to perform, I can’t help but smile when I do. I didn’t want to have a sad breakup song filled with regret, but a song that can make you look back at that experience with growth and liberation.

What are you looking forward to most when you sit in front of an audience and perform the single?

I’m looking forward to connecting with my audience and hopefully they know that no matter what I’m here for them. That we all go through the same problems and experience pain, but we are not alone. I’m here to turn that pain into something beautiful that can help ease it.

How do you gain perspective about your music when you bring fans into it?

The way people interpret the meaning of my songs helps me gain perspective and guides me to write about the themes I gravitate to.

After the release of Pieces do you leave it on repeat or do you back away from the music and let your fans consume it only?

I backed away from my music for a little bit. It’s a process of letting go of my baby and knowing it belongs to everyone now. I come back to them when we start rehearsing for live shows and it feels good to hear them again with a fresh pair of ears.

When will the album be released?

It will be out this March!
