Niviane is an American power metal band formed in 2015 hailing from Sacramento California. Co-founders, guitarists Mark Miner & Claudeous Creamer along with bassist Rick Stallkamp and drummer Mark Sprague created the band’s sound by melding together their collective influences of classic heavy metal fused with modern European metal stylings.

This interview was completed by Niviane bassist Tyler Satterlee:

What hot sounds in the city should fans be listening to of yours right now?

They should be cranking up the Niviane albums The Ruthless Divine and The Druid King to get excited for our third release coming soon!

How has the reception been to new music?

The new songs we have included here and there in our shows have received an outstanding roar of approval from the rock and metal fans out there which has been wonderful! It always shakes things up and keeps it interesting playing new songs that we’ve been working on for a while now in live show situations for sure.

What are you looking forward to most when it comes to the new music?

Playing the new music is always exciting because you’re finally getting to showcase it the way it was always meant to be which is in front of a live audience and the engagement of energy back and forth between us and the fans being a true reward after so much work.

What was the intention set for your music?

Since recently joining the band, I could clearly see from day one it was always about the music and the healthy escapism that these powerful songs bring to an audience with the imagination that goes with that. The 100% intention is to get you rocking out and headbanging!

What was the most important message to impart with your music?

I think the message is, if anything is one of strength, perseverance, integrity and sheer power in the face of adversity. It is the sound of battle with no other option but to win against all odds. Never give up.

What music do you put on when you need some good inspiration?

To get inspired I like listening to the all-time great metal records like Master of Puppets, Paranoid, Blizzard of Ozz, Hall of the Mountain King, Abigail, Number of the Beast, Screaming for Vengeance, Balls to the Wall, Rust in Peace, Holy Diver, and so many more! Timeless albums that never get old!

What is a song of yours that you have on repeat right now to set the mood for the rest of this year?

That would have to be Like Lions which is off of Niviane’s The Ruthless Divine album. The song is pure energy and a complete force of nature demonstrating the fearlessness that is needed in life and in battles.
