Hot Sounds In The City
THE VIEWS OF MUSIC WITH STEWART ARP

Stewart Arp talks his upcoming single 'Hazel' and more music coming our way in the new year!
Do you have some hot new sounds in the works right now with your music?
YES! I am releasing a song titled Hazel in late October. As well as three more songs in early 2022.
Is it difficult to release new music?
It has always been financially difficult, because if you are going to do something - you need to do it right which means quality content, photoshoots, PR, ad campaigns, and all. Lots of musicians also struggle to release new music due to perfectionism. It is hard to let a part of yourself go, especially if you don't think it is fully capable.
What kind of sounds can your fans expect from you next?
A little more indie/rock.
Is there ever a moment you want to change something in your music last minute?
Always... literally always! I feel like every time I open up a session, I have a compulsion to rewrite new stuff. But at some point, you really need to pack it up and send it off!
Would you consider yourself a perfectionist?
Not anymore. I used to be, but that is a very unhealthy way to view music. Sometimes it's the imperfections that make music resonate and relate with others.
What strides are you making to include in new music?
I am trying to get back to my rock n roll style. What I grew up loving and listening to. I like folk and pop music and I am not done in that genre yet. But I am excited to expand more into the rock n roll I know and love.
Most basic piece of advice that you are so happy you've learned along the way of your journey?
Whenever you have lost your way, try to think back to the reason you started. Whenever I am struggling, I think back to that 13-year-old kid strumming a crappy guitar in a basement for 6 hours straight every night. I think that kid would be so proud of me.
